Engineering & Maintenance Manager

This position is responsible for managing programs, procedures and goals to ensure that plant personnel are safe, productive and effectively utilized.  This individual will be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, and must be able to work effectively with other key areas of the facility as well as coach and develop others.
Essential Functions

  • Key leader and sponsor in the continued progression of Total Productive Manufacturing (Preventive/Predictive Programs).
  • Planning, scheduling, documenting, and verifying all maintenance work to be performed (planned and unplanned)
  • Provide engineering support for project management of plant capital plans
  • Work closely with operations team to effectively maintain all plant processing, packaging and support equipment in proper running order, while meeting all government mandated criteria necessary to continue plant operations.
  • Managing environmental impact to meet or exceed governmental standards and company policies.
  • Developing and implementing an energy program to prevent waste/reduce utility consumption.
  • Developing an effective parts management strategy.
  • Work closely with operations team to review and audit the preventive/predictive maintenance programs for assigned production and facility equipment to ensure a safe, efficient operation with a minimum of cost and downtime.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Broad base knowledge of electric motors, belt, chain and gear drives, hydraulic, pneumatic and HVAC system
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures and implement repairs
  • Responsible for plant continuous improvement initiatives and resolution
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Complies with ISO 9001, cGMP, SQF

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Must be available during the “core” work hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some overtime and weekend hours expected. (subject to change)

Required Education and Experience
  • Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years Engineering/Maintenance experience in a high-volume production facility, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, ISO and GMP guidelines
  • Management experience in development and expansion of facility and personnel
  • Experience in environmental and industrial processed, electrical and mechanical problem solving
  • Strong knowledge of PLC’s programming and problem solving
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer’s License is aplus
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
There is no visa or H1-B sponsorship. Must successful complete and pass background and drug screen, and live scan.
