Licensing and Compliance Specialist

The Licensing and Compliance Specialist is primarily responsible for managing all state and local license applications, renewals, and maintenance and assisting the compliance department as needed in all aspects of compliance

Essential Functions

  • Manage all aspects of state and local license application process across multiple states and jurisdictions
  • Manage license renewals
  • On-going license and documentation maintenance to ensure compliance in between renewals
  • Monitor and maintain license and other compliance-related trackers
  • Help ensure all assets remain 100% compliant
  • Assist with audits, acquisitions, and other compliance functions as needed
  • Collaborate with process writers and consultants on updating procedures, plans, and processes to be aligned with regulations

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success gaining buy-in from decisions makers and stakeholders
  • Past success navigating ambiguous scenarios with limited information or direction
  • Proven ability to implement creative and innovative approaches to large, complex programs and business problems
  • Responding to a variety of questions from different teams and researching for the answer from people, internal documents, and external resources (lots of Googling)
  • Trusting and reliable, sticks to commitments, follows through on plans, picks up other people’s slack with a teamwork spirit

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Three years’ compliance/regulatory experience.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and laws and disseminate information.
  • Knowledge of regulations within the Cannabis industry

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Advanced Excel skills – knows how to make tools in Excel to allow for analysis, pivoting
  • Experience monitoring program implementation
