We are looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel - Commercial Real Estate to join our team! The ideal candidate will have 4+ years commercial real estate experience in law firm setting drafting and negotiating commercial leases and purchase agreements, closing purchases and structuring financing transactions.

Associate Counsel- Real Estate
 
Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for growing the company’s commercial real estate practice in conjunction with the VP of Legal and Chief Strategy Officer. 
 
Qualifications
Required:
JD and CA bar
4+ years commercial real estate experience in
law firm setting drafting and negotiating commercial leases and purchase agreements, closing purchases and structuring financing transactions.
2+ years general corporate law experience
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Must be able to excel in extremely
fast paced atmosphere
 
Preferred
Medium/big firm experience
Business undergraduate degree and/or MBA
Familiarity with cannabis industry
Network of real estate professionals within City of Los Angeles
 
Roles and Responsibilities:

 
  • Negotiate and draft commercial leases 
  • Represent the company in all aspects of commercial real estate acquisition process from diligence through closing.
  • Collaborate on M&A transactions as needed
  • Evaluate legal and business risks associated with the adoption of real estate, environmental, and financing strategies
  • Draft and negotiate loan documents for project finance, commercial leases, and construction contracts for project development
  • Provide support to the project development team to secure necessary governmental and other stakeholder approvals for new projects
  • Assist compliance team with zoning and land use issues as needed
  • Manage landlord relations and be primary point of contact between landlord and facilities team
  • Represent the company as borrower in financing transactions
  • Assist with overflow corporate work as needed (contracts, basic entity formation, corporate governance, etc.)
