Demand Planner

The Demand Planner at MedMen is responsible for aggregating all demand forecasts and creating a forward-looking demand plan (3 months and outward) that accounts for the variables of promotions, trend, and seasonality. The demand planner will work closely with the inventory analysts, retail operations, marketing, buying and production planning teams.

  • Coordinate with inventory analysts to achieve visibility to store demand & trends.
  • Work closely with Buying & Marketing teams to adjust demand plan for promotions and introduction of new items.
  • Analyze historical data as a benchmark for item seasonality.
  • Communicate DC stock outages to management and provide tactical resolution.
  • Analyze root causes of inventory issues and provide resolutions.
  • Provide long-term demand forecasts to buying team to ensure MedMen’s reservation of vendor supply
  • Provide long-term demand forecasts to production planning team and adjust plan due to the availability of internal supply.
  • Develop initiatives to reduce slow-moving inventories and to improve inventory turns.
  • Generate and maintain weekly & monthly reports on inbound inventory, DC inventory & forecast accuracy.
  • Adjust demand plans due to budget restrictions or surplus in coordination with Finance.
  • Coordinate with finance to compile reports for monthly, quarterly and yearly financial close.
  • Support ad hoc project requests from the Manager
  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business analytics, logistics/supply chain preferred.
  • Strong background in a variety of inventory management concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience as a demand planner, supply planner, inventory analyst, supply chain analyst or production planner.
  • Experience in using an ERP system, spreadsheet, database or other software.
  • Effective team skills.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory accounting principles and controls.
  • Ability to create and implement effective processes & procedures.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, highly proficient in Excel (e.g., Excel formulas, V-lookups, pivot tables) and has skill in preparing tables, graphs, and charts.
  • Must possess a strong results and goal/deadline-oriented work ethic, high attention to detail and be flexible.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to develop and bring to completion multiple assignments concurrently.
