Armed Security Guard - Manhattan

This position is under the direct supervision of the security director for assigned shift of the security department and is responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, personnel, customers, and all visitors.

Essential Functions

  1. Performs security patrols.
  2. Enforces badge and keycard procedures.
  3. Protects property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
  4. Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security-related situations.
  5. Provides any needed assistance to customers, employees, and visitors following the department's procedures.
  6. Serves as training officer to new security staff.
  7. May perform other related duties as assigned.
  8. Perform inventory and currency count twice daily
  9. Set up for the day.
  10. Perform the required biotrack data entry.
  11. Man the security desk.
  12. Assist the pharmacists in patient flow and management.
  13. Preparation of required visitor sheets, and emergency visitor sheets (for non-registered visitors).
  14. Daily reconciliation sheets.
  15. Required filing of all of the above.
  16. E-mail the SOC with the amount of inventory sold by product and lot number.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office, retail, or grow environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Will be 24/7 during construction of the facility

Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. At least 21 years of age.
3. Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures.

Preferred Education and Experience
  1. Security/law enforcement experience.
  2. AA Degree
