The paralegal/legal assistant position provides direct support to the General Counsel in an exciting and fast paced atmosphere. This is a non-litigation position. General business transactional and/or real estate experience is preferred.

Essential Functions

  1. Assists in the preparation of legal documents such as service and supplier contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation/organization, LLC operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and annual reports for approval and use by the legal department.  
  2. Legal Research and analysis
  3. Assists in the maintenance of the corporate structure and corporate governance.  
  4. Performs clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, assisting with email correspondences, and task management.  
  5. Assists in the real estate and corporate acquisition closing processes.
  6. Assists with intellectual property filings and maintenance.
  7. Files correspondence and legal documents using company web-based filing system.
  8. Provide regular updates regarding relevant local, state, and federal laws effecting company business.

Required Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience  
  1. Paralegal certification.
  2. Additional legal research certifications and coursework.
  3. Experience with corporate and/or real estate law.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  1. Ability to draft succinct memos and business correspondences.
