Product Supply Specialist

Summary:
The Product Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for managing vendor product purchases to ensure optimal stock at all retail outlets and distribution centers.  This position will execute vendor PO’s based on demand and will need to coordinate all execution with the Supply Chain and Retail Operations Teams.  This role will also contribute to assortment optimization, pricing strategy, promotional management and execution, and vendor terms and conditions.

  • Forecast monthly demand for existing products and locations
  • Forecast demand for new store openings
  • Slow moving and obsolete inventory analysis
  • Write and Develop Project Plans
  • Create and manage product purchasing timeline for new store openings
  • Measure and report on cost saving strategies created by the Product Purchasing Manager
  • Define Vendor KPIs and Scorecarding
  • Develop a system to measure and report on Vendor performance
  • Work closely with Quality department to create and implement Supplier Quality Standards
  • Compliance checks
  • Develop and implement supply management processes
  • Execute inventory plans to achieve inventory/asset management aligned with company goals; resolve shipping, receiving, invoicing and payment problems to ensure prompt and accurate payments to suppliers.
  • Implement procurement best practices, policies, and procedures
  • Identify and assist deployment of cost savings, structuring cost reduction programs using value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) techniques, and other tool sets to reduce supply chain complexities and waste
  • Calculate appropriate safety stock (total & by location)
  • Calculate and monitor inventory turns

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management
