Senior Network Administrator

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated senior networking & systems administration expert who is willing to dream big and go after it, make the most with what they have, help make the technical function of our operations team stronger, and provide technical and systems support to our environments.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience with installing and maintaining Active Directory, has diverse and well-rounded exposure to different IT environments, can think on their feet, troubleshoots creatively, and is a compassionate and collaborative team member.
Responsibilities & Roles:
  • Optimize and maintain network equipment and operations to ensure minimal downtime and unplanned service interruptions
  • Troubleshooting network problems & escalating to vendor as necessary
  • Assist in providing network and remote connectivity support
  • Maintain, plan, & implement data connectivity for LAN & WAN systems
  • Work with the IT team to define and continually update network standards.
  • Monitor network performance and act as escalation point for technical requests
  • Assist or head up office/store relocations, expansions and setups as they pertain to IT Infrastructure and services
  • Perform routine system maintenance, including system updates, log checking, etc.
  • Install, configure, update, secure and monitor network server software and hardware systems.
  • Perform appropriate change control procedures with regard to all network server related system changes and upgrades.
  • Recommend and implement new technology based practices as required
  • Manage telecom and ISP circuits
  • Perform and oversee Active Directory administration activities including schema changes, group policy updates, AD site configuration and major version upgrades.
  • After hours and some weekend work is expected as required
  • Ability to troubleshoot calmly and effectively within tight time constraints
  • Be able to work at multiple RTR locations when needed
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must be willing to travel between sites
  • Experience in firewall administration and configuration (Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.)
  • Experience with TCP/IP design and support experience, strong knowledge of LAN, VLAN, Wi-Fi. DNS, DHCP, SSL, VPNs, and remote monitoring/administration of servers
  • Experience working with Active Directory infrastructures, including site setup and management, architecture/topology, schemas and schema extension management, group management, group policies, user account management, management of printers and other computer objects.
  • Proficient in Windows 2008/2012. Exceptionally well-organized and able to effectively troubleshoot and resolve complex problems while rendering sound resolutions, and have the ability to articulate goals and manage multiple resources and priorities.
  • Ability to work productively on your own and collaboratively as a team member in a fast paced, time-sensitive, customer-responsive, and team-oriented environment.
