Summary:
The Inventory Operations Planner at MedMen is responsible for the planning and execution of inventory storage and flow infrastructure at all MedMen retail and distribution locations. Other responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: training of other MedMen employees in the proper interaction with such goods and infrastructure, ad-hoc inventory analysis, as well as weekly and monthly reporting. Strong attention to compliance constraints such as fire codes, workplace safety, OSHA law and other regulatory framework is critical to the success of this role.

  • Coordinate with the MedMen Construction & Design, Retail Operations, Distribution, and other stakeholders, compliance, security, re for timely delivery of inventory optimization projects, new store roll-outs, and renovations. 
  • Provide best-in-class proposals on inventory storage infrastructure at MedMen retail and distribution locations
  • Make revisions to third-party blueprints regarding vault and safe placement, racks, and other back of house infrastructure for the purpose of labor reduction, cost savings, and increase of throughput
  • Train MedMen employees on proper inventory operations & control processes to decrease the likelihood of inventory discrepancies in the MedMen Chain
  • Provide a framework to understand the true capacity of each location’s back-of-house based on the product mix that is driven by the demand of each location.
  • Support the VP of S&OP and the Director of Distribution in the buildout of the Los Angeles distribution center and subsequent distribution locations. 
  • Work closely with logistics, supply chain and inventory analysts to identify opportunities to optimize the inbound and outbound flow of finished goods. 
  • Work with Supply Chain Systems Manager to sync all inventory storage infrastructure with the inventory systems as designed within the ERP
  • Provide weekly and monthly updates during S&OP meetings on health of the inventory operations throughout the MedMen Chain. 
  • Support ad-hoc project requests from the Manager
  • Execute, manage, and support store level physical inventories to ensure accuracy on an ad hoc or scheduled basis
  • Develop and maintain the Standard Operating Procedures for Retail Inventory Product Flow including both back room and sales floor 


Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in operations, logistics/supply chain or business preferred
  • Strong background in a variety of inventory management concepts, practices and procedures. 
  • Experience interpreting and modifying blueprints with the intent of optimization 
  • Experience working in an inventory operations role type of roles for a high volume retailer, manufacturer or distributor.
  • Experience in using an ERP system, spreadsheets, databases or other software.
  • Effective team skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory accounting principles and controls.
  • Ability to create and implement effective processes & procedures.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, highly proficient in Excel (e.g., Excel formulas, V-lookups, pivot tables) and has skill in preparing tables, graphs, and charts.
  • Must possess a strong results and goal/deadline-oriented work ethic, high attention to detail and be flexible.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to develop and bring to completion multiple assignments concurrently.
