The design assistant will assist the Facility Design Director with the administrative and artistic details of remodeling or renovation projects. His or her job includes research in to new materials, sourcing, conceptual design for spaces and furniture, and coordinating various vendors. This person may also be responsible for helping with the budget, construction drawings and monitoring vendors to make sure they adhere to project specs, sourcing materials, and scheduling and tracking appointments.

  1. From the direction of the Director, will track evolving budgets and submit proposals for new work.
  2. Work with finance to ensure that vendors continue to be on pay schedule.
  3. Will follow methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, progress reports, and staff conferences to inform management of current status of each project.
  4. Acts as an intermediary between design department and vendors to ensure the quality of product.
  5. Schedules meetings internally and with vendors, on and off site.
  6. Source and purchase materials online and in-store
  7. Coordinate with internal departments on equipment and facility needs for new facilities
  8. Assist in creation of furniture design and construction documents in Revit.
  9. Compile design presentation
  10. Render facilities and interiors for investors, create scale models

Required Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Four to six years’ related experience or training.

Preferred Education and Experience
  1. Design Certification.
  2. Seven to 10 years’ related experience or training.
