Summary/Objective 

The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) is responsible for leading through MedMen’s mission, vision, and values in order to develop a high-performing team that consistently delivers top-line sales growth.

The ASM is responsible for establishing and maintaining guest services. The position is responsible for the various tasks involved in the overall operation of the store, including measuring business trends, and maximizing sales/profitability by developing staff and by controlling expenses, shortages and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control.
The ASM assists the General Manager (GM) and Manager In Training (MIT) in leading a team of sales associates and pharmacists and is accountable for all aspects of managing a single retail store, inclusive of the processing department. This leader drives his/her business through a focus on performance (sales, service, and expense control), people (talent acquisition, training, and development), and process (standard operating procedures). This position requires a passion for process excellence, a drive for results, attention to detail and the ability to lead and influence.

  • Implements and maintains guest service standards.
  • Ensures that each guest receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, including greeting, and acknowledging every guest and by maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest services.
  • Continuously trains, develops and communicates with all staff as well as assesses performance on a regular basis.
  • Maintains all merchandising standards, display presentations, and signing standards and monitors inventory levels.
  • Follows all standard operating procedures for keeping store organized and clean.
  • Coaches team with tardiness/attendance, behavior and performance concerns.
  • Conducts 30/60/90 day and 6-month performance reviews with employees.
  • Plans and assigns daily goals, work schedule and attendance, tasks, and assignments.
  • Ensures proper completion through follow-up. Assists in monitoring sales performance through the analysis of sales reports and comparison shopping.
  • Assists in adjusting strategies.
  • Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and
hiring of the employees within that department.

Work environment

This job operates in a professional retail environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Flexibility is a must. Occasional overtime work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some store-to-store travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • 3-5 years of managerial experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the retail industry with a customer-centric approach
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to build and manage teams
  • Ability to work a full-time flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Must have dependable car or public transportation alternative
